How to Choose the Right Electrician if You Have Any of These Problems and Want It fixed

When we do get calls from homeowners, it normally isn't to deal with a life-or-death emergency situation. Instead, it's more likely you're suffering from one of these six annoying problems:

1. "My neighbor (or hubby) tried doing it for me." We apologize to the fellows reading this but ... a HUGE piece of our electrical business has to do with finishing the projects you start. From outlets to ceiling fans ... chandeliers to hot tubs.

2. "I need a ceiling fan or chandelier installed." Hire an electrician that will install lighting fixtures inside and out, fans of all types, outlets in any room of your home, dimmer switches and more. Make sure that the electrical work meets all city codes and that the electrician uses copper wiring.

3. "The breaker won't stay reset." If your breaker keeps tripping, the cause could be a potentially dangerous problem involving your home's circuitry. An experienced electrician can find the source of your problem and solve it.

4. Ugly Internet or TV cable stapled to your baseboards (instead of hidden inside the wall). Let's face it, "snaking" wire through walls is an art, a science, and a very special skill few electricians, cable guys or Internet technicians have. An experienced electrician is a specialist at running hidden circuitry.

5. Something smells scorched ... and it's not breakfast. Over-heated appliances and electrical circuits are a problem you don't want to ignore. An experienced electrician may save you a 911 call later.

6. The unsolved mystery switch. Most of us have one. If you've got a switch you've never been able to link to an outlet, an experienced, trained electrician can solve the mystery.
